Arizona Board of Nursing does not require continuing education for LPNs or RNs at this time.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses

APRNs must maintain national certification, hold an active RN license, and have 960+ hours of practice at the APRN level within the past 5 years.

If less than 960 hours of practice within the past 5 years, 45 hours of continuing education in advanced pharmacology and 45 hours in subject(s) related to APRN role and population area are required for renewal. We have a bundle to complete this requirement so you can renew your license! The Arizona APRN Renewal Bundle and the Arizona APRN Pharmacology Renewal Bundle will allow you to meet your requirements.

APRNs who hold an active DEA license and are authorized to prescribe Schedule II controlled substances MUST complete:

3 hours of opioid-related, substance use disorder-related, or addiction-related continuing education (as required by Arizona Revised Statute 32-3248.02)
