The New Hampshire Board of Nursing provides the following guidelines regarding the continuing education requirements for nursing professions in New Hampshire.
Licensed Practical Nurses
- 30 contact hours of continuing education every 2 years.
Registered Nurses
- 30 contact hours of continuing education every 2 years.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
- 60 contact hours of continuing education every 2 years.
- 30 of the 60 hours must be related to specialty.
- 5 hours should cover pharmacology.
- For licensees with an active DEA # for prescribing in New Hampshire, 3 of
the 5 hours must address opioid prescribing, pain management, or
substance abuse disorder.
