The Oklahoma Board of Nursing provides the following guidelines regarding the continuing education requirements for nursing professions in Oklahoma.
Licensed Practical Nurses

LPNs are required to complete 24 contact hours of continuing education every 2 years.
Registered Nurses
-
RNs are required to complete 24 contact hours of continuing education every 2 years.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses

APRNs are required to complete 24 contact hours of continuing education every 2 years.

15 of the 24 contact hours must be on pharmacotherapeutics, clinical application, and use of pharmacological agents in the prevention of illness, and in the restoration and maintenance of health (for CNPs, CNSs, and CNMs)

2 of the 24 contact hours must be on pain management OR opioid use and addiction (for CNPs, CNSs, and CNMs)
