What are Oregon's State CE Requirements?

The Oregon State Board of Nursing provides the following guidelines regarding the continuing education requirements for nursing professions in Oregon.

Licensed Practical Nurses

  • LPNs are required to complete one hour of pain management continuing education every renewal period. 

    • The Oregon Pain Management Commission (OPMC) offers a pain module that meets this requirement. It can be found here

  • LPNs are required to complete two hours of cultural competency continuing education. 

Registered Nurses

  • RNs are required to complete one hour of pain management continuing education every renewal period.

    • The Oregon Pain Management Commission (OPMC) offers a pain module that meets this requirement. It can be found here

  • RNs are required to complete two hours of cultural competency continuing education. 

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses

  • APRNs are required to complete one hour of pain management continuing education every renewal period. 

    • The Oregon Pain Management Commission (OPMC) offers a pain module that meets this requirement. It can be found here

  • APRNs are required to complete two hours of cultural competency continuing education.
