What are New Mexico's State CE Requirements?

The New Mexico Board of Nursing provides the following guidelines regarding the continuing education requirements for nursing professions in New Mexico.

The New Mexico Board of Nursing provides the following guidelines regarding the continuing education requirements for nursing professions in New Mexico.

 

Licensed Practical Nurses

  • LPNs are required to complete 30 contact hours of continuing education every 2 years.

 

Registered Nurses

  • RNs are required to complete 30 contact hours of continuing education every 2 years.

 

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses

  • APRNs must maintain national certification in their area of specialty.

  • APRNs with DEA registration are required to complete 5 contact hours of non cancer pain management.

  • Certified Nurse Midwives must complete 30 contact hours; 10 of which must be in pharmacology.
