The Wyoming Board of Nursing provides the following guidelines regarding the continuing education requirements for nursing professions in Wyoming.
Licensed Practical Nurses

LPNs are required to complete one of the following:

400 hours of practice

200 hours and 15 hours of continuing education every 2 years or

30 hours of continuing education every 2 years

Registered Nurses
-
RNs are required to complete one of the following:

400 hours of practice

200 hours and 15 hours of continuing education every 2 years or
-
30 hours of continuing education every 2 years

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses

APRNs must compete 1 out of the 2 following methods every 2 years:

Current national certification as an APRN in the recognized role and population focus area

60 contact hours of Continuing Education and 400 hours of practice

APRNs with prescriptive authority are required to complete 3 contact hours of continuing education related to the responsible prescribing of controlled substances or treatment of substance use disorder.
